Contrary to most peoples’ understanding, being assertive does not mean being pushy or aggressive. Being assertive means expressing your feelings, asking for what you want - or saying no to what you don’t want - in a way that is clear, open and respectful of other people. This in turn ensures healthy, positive relationships - both at school and at home.

How often have you wished you could really help someone in crisis, instead of offering well-meant, but ultimately useless advice? With a little basic training, you can learn to listen, provide support and offer real guidance to people in need.
