Attention on Assertiveness - Session 1 of 3
Tuesday, 16 November 2010, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

ATTENTION ON ASSERTIVENESS

Contrary to most peoples' understanding, being assertive does not mean being pushy or aggressive.
Being assertive means expressing your feelings, asking for what you want - or saying no to what you don't want - in a way that is clear, open and respectful of other people.
This in turn ensures healthy, positive relationships - both at work and at home.

The course is both theoretical and practical, and we will pay attention to:

• What it really means to be assertive

• How to identify and manage non-assertive (and destructive) communication styles.

• Assertive verbal and non-verbal (body) language

Location : UKZN (University of KZN) - MTBC4
Contact : Chris Sparks - 073 348 8611 (LLLKZN Publicist / Administrator)
This course is being run as part of the Life Long Learning (LLLKZN) programme. For more information and to make a booking please visit: http://www.LLLkzn.net
